About Me
My name is Heather Smith. I am 36 years old, single, living in Morro Bay, CA with my cat Princess Daisey of the Underworld. I grew up in a suburb of Charleston, SC called Hanahan where I graduated from high school. I went to College of Charleston for 2.5 years. Then I moved to Houston, TX where I graduated from the University of Houston with a Communications degree and minor in New Media (I'd interned at an ISP). Soon after graduation I secured a job at a major OEM computer company as an HTML coder, worked up through the ranks, took a job transfer to Colorado Springs, CO and finally ended up as a product merchandiser for one of our online stores.
I'm an INFP, agnostic-theist, over-worked, culinary-goddess, former EverQuest addict, avid console gamer & movie lover. I'm politically independent although I mostly lean towards the liberal left yet I own a handgun and will argue vehemently with anyone who opposes gun ownership. I abhor organized religion; the closest thing I have to a dogmatic creed is "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" the television series. (All hail Joss!) I never miss Battlestar Galactica (<3 Helo!) or NASCAR cup series races, make hand-made greeting cards with cool papers, ribbon and rubber stamps when I have the time, and take incredibly good care of my family and close friends.
I've lost and gained enough weight over the last few years to make a whole other person. In 2004 & 2005 I lost over 80lbs through purely diet and exercise. In the last year and a half since I've worked from home, I've gained almost all of it back. I'm working now to hit somewhere in the middle. I have no desire to be modelesque; healthy is my goal. I love my curves, I'll always have my curves and regardless of what the scale says I love my body. This unnerves some. But I figure they must have their own body image issues. The strange truth of it is I'm more confident heavier than I was lighter. Go figure.
I'm not currently interested in any sort of a romantic relationship. I am however trying to get pregnant using swimmers from a sperm bank. I'm very ready to be a Mommy.
Enough with the details though. Here are my "James Lipton" answers:
What is your favorite word?
Passion
What is your least favorite word?
Naugahyde
What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally?
Intelligent conversation. Openness to new ideas. Seeking Truth. Nature. Poetry. A perfectly decadent and sinful dessert. Nudity.
I have the benefit of living in a small town where everyone knows your name and I love the sense of community that comes with a collective awareness. My most creative outlet lately has been my card-making and I usually do that with BBC America on in the background and the windows wide open to see/hear the ocean.
What turns you off creatively, spiritually or emotionally?
Closed-mindedness. Ignorance. Perpetual sarcasm. Extreme cold. Liars. People who constantly complain but take no steps towards improving their situation or growth. People who intentionally try to make me feel less love for myself.
What sound or noise do you love?
Ocean's waves, gentle rain falling, the cooing my cat makes when she's supremely happy.
What sound or noise do you hate?
Loud motorcycles like Harleys especially on PCH 1.
What is your favorite curse word?
Fuck, is there any other?
What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?
Television writer
What profession would you not like to do?
Anything relating to slaughterhouses. If I had to kill or clean my own meat in order to eat, I'd be a vegetarian which is saying a lot because I don't like most vegetables. I'd be a berry gatherer I suppose.
If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?
Sorry I couldn't grant you immortality. But here's a lovely football phone as a gift...
